Karibu: An East African Dinner
On April 16, 2009, our class hosted a fundraiser dinner at Hamilton to support women’s grassroots organizations in Tanzania. The night included East African food cooked by the class, West African dance and drumming, plenty of Tanzanian crafts for sale, and a silent auction on services donated by community members. We want to thank everyone who came out and everyone who helped make this night possible. The evening was a lot of fun, and we look forward to supporting our Tanzanian partners this summer.

Class Retreat
On April 11-12, 2009, we went on an overnight retreat together to prepare for Tanzania. It gave us a chance to get to know each other, familiarize ourselves with camping equipment, and take a hike through the woods. Despite the mud and the sub-freezing temperatures at night, we all had a great time hiking, chilling by a campfire, cooking, and eating of course.
